On Monday, Rajkummar Rao tied the knot with Patralekhaa, his partner of 11 years, in an intimate traditional ceremony in Chandigarh. The couple, who never fails to steal the spotlight with their social media PDA, took the internet by storm when their wedding pictures surfaced on the web. The Sabyasachi couple looked adorable together as they penned sweet notes for each other right after getting married on social media.
A few years ago, Patralekhaa had opened up about her relationship with Rajkummar and shared how she fell in love with the actor and her first impression of him. She told Humans of Bombay that she had watched Rajkummar’s film Love Sex Aur Dhokha and thought he was the same in real life as his character in the movie. However, when they met her perception of him changed, what Patralekhaa called “magic”.
She said, “My perception of him was tarnished! He told me later, that he first saw me in an ad & thought, ‘I’m going to marry her.’ It was so ironic!” The couple has been together for 11 years and finally sealed the deal in a private set-up amidst their family and friends in Oberoi Sukhvilas. Patralekhaa had further shared what Rajkummar’s mother said to him when she first met her. “He (Rajkummar) told me once that after I met his mom, she said, ‘I have a feeling she’s the last one I’m meeting.’ She was right–we’ve been together for 8 years,” she had said.
Posting a picture of their wedding, Rajkummar wrote, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa Here’s to forever .. and beyond.”
Patralekhaa, too, penned a sweet message with a photo from their sath phera ceremony. “I got married to my everything today; my boyfriend, my partner in crime, my family, my soulmate…My best friend for the last 11 years! There is no greater feeling than to be your wife! Here’s to our forever…@rajkummar_rao”.
They had jetted off the Chandigarh last week and hosted an engagement party. Farah Khan was a part of the wedding festivities of the couple.
