‘He Is A Champion’: Dinesh Karthik Lauds Virat Kohli Despite His Dip In Form

Virat Kohli, India’s brightest batter, is still not able to show his skills in international cricket. He could score only 23 runs during the recently concluded first Test against Bangladesh at Chennai. He scored only 6 and 17 runs in both the innings of the game. Kohli got LBW by spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the second innings after a chase of the delivery outside off-stump from pacer Hasan Mahmud in the first innings.

Virat Kohli’s Poor Form Questioned

After taking a glimpse of the batting difficulties imposed on Kohli during the Chennai Test, one fan asked Dinesh Karthik if Kohli has to work out on something less upon his batting techniques. The former India cricketer confidently replied to all the queries featuring Kohli’s form.

“Kohli’s return to Tests hasn’t been what we were eager to see. He is a beast but do you think he will have to look back at this series as an eye-opener for him to work on a few things?” asked a fan to the ex-wicketkeeper batter on Cricbuzz.

Dinesh Karthik Backs Kohli

“Why? Two innings, he has gotten out, sir? Two innings? It’s Virat Kohli, he is completely okay. One Test doesn’t change anything about his life. He is a champion. Big matches, who do you want? Virat Kohli! He is the king.” Dinesh Karthik replied

Virat Kohli has aggregated 499 runs in Test cricket with 1,094 deliveries since 2021. In that space of time, he was dismissed 18 times, averaging at 27.72 and having a strike rate of 45.61.
