2017 Champions Trophy Centurion Fakhar Zaman recently opens up regarding his condition during the Final Match at Lord’s. He said that he was not feeling well and how he was just on the verge of missing the final clash against India. He was awarded the Player of the Match during the finals for his 114 runs innings.

“I was not well the day before the game, I even talked to Mickey (Coach) and said I would not be able to play the game,” he said.

“He said you go out there and get a duck first ball, it does not matter, you have to play that game. I managed to play but I remember that I did not sleep well that night and he forced me to play. I am pleased he did,” he added.

Pakistan claimed their victory in the 2017 Champions Trophy finals over India by marginal 180 runs. Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafiz aided the Pakistan’s innings with bat. Both Batters claimed half-centuries. Also Pakistani star batter Babar Azam’s 46 runs helped Pakistan a massive score of 338 runs.

Zaman eventually had his way as the opener along with Azhar Ali. His stunning innings came to an end in the 33rd over when Indian top All-Rounder Hardik Pandya dismissed Fakhar Zaman. His innings consisted of 12 fours and 3 sixes with an impressive strike rate of 107.54.

Fakhar is also included in the Champions Trophy squad this year and the fans are in hope of witnessing his glory once again. He also score 84 runs during the 1st ODI against New Zealand in the tri-series among South Africa, Pakistan and New Zealand.
