Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana is likely to be released from the national team to play for Delhi in the next match of the Ranji Trophy against Assam. He was originally a traveling reserve of the Indian Test team during their tour of New Zealand, but the Indian team management will now release him because of the unavailability of Navdeep Saini from the slated Delhi game due to the inclusion of the latter in the India A tour squad that went to Australia. Rana is to travel to Delhi to play the Ranji Trophy match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as reported by Times of India.

Rana To Join Delhi Ranji Team For Match Against Assam

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who traveled with Rana, has been released to join Andhra for the game against Gujarat. To date, Rana played nine first-class matches, where he took 36 wickets and even made a hundred.

Harshit Rana’s Successful IPL Stint

Under Gambhir, whom he had coached at KKR for IPL 2024, Rana has been a regular across all formats in the Indian setup. But he won’t make it to the international scene before October 31, leaving the door open for KKR to retain him as an uncapped player for the IPL 2025 mega auction and have him back at a price as low as Rs 4 crore.

Rana was very instrumental in KKR’s victory of the 2024 edition of the IPL in which they reached their third title by having taken 19 wickets, finishing in the top five of wicket-takers. Overall, in IPL, Rana has 25 wickets in 21 matches, with an average of 23.24 and en economy of 9.05.
