In an unexpected turn of events, England captain Harry Kane has finally addressed his much-talked-about future with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL) on Wednesday. One of the finest strikers in the English top-flight, star forward Kane had expressed his desire to part ways with Tottenham Hotspur before the start of the new season. Kane, who guided Gareth Southgate-coached England to the final of the UEFA Euro 2020 was in speculations about ending his current stint with Tottenham.

At a time when Kane was heavily tipped to join Premier League holders Manchester City before the end of the ongoing transfer window, the England striker has confirmed that he will stay at Spurs this season. Yes, Kane has ended his transfer saga by rejecting a move away from Spurs at least for this season. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Kane expressed gratitude to the loyal supporters of Tottenham Hotspur before addressing the transfer rumors surrounding his future with the club.

“It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks. I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success. #COYS,” Kane said in his tweet.

The England captain is Tottenham’s second top goalscorer in the club’s history. Kane has netted 221 goals for the London-based club and the Spurs talisman is only 45 strikes behind Jimmy Greaves. With Kane staying at Spurs for another season, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men will hope to end the club’s 13-year wait for silverware in their 2021-2022 campaign. Kane has three years left on his six-year contract at Spurs.

The striker had penned a contract extension in 2018. Talking about the new season, Kane’s Spurs have made an impressive start under new manager Nuno Santo in the Premier League. Spurs defeated Premier League holders Man City 1-0 in a match where Kane was not used by the London giants.
