Gujarat Congress chief Jagdish Thakor has slammed Hardik Patel for being hard on the grand old party and not making himself available to resolve the differences.
Thakor blasted Patel for making anti-party statements in the media and said the latter was not keen to discuss his grievances with the party.
He further said that despite inviting the Patidar leader and Congress state working president for a discussion he has been avoiding the talks.
Hardik Patel is reportedly angry with the party’s state leadership
Patel is reportedly angry with the party’s state leadership and has been publicly voicing his displeasure about its functioning in Gujarat ahead of assembly polls due later this year.
“Hardik tweeted yesterday. As soon as I learnt about his tweet, I called him immediately and told him to come so that we can hold talks,” Thakor told reporters.
Thakor said Patel has assured to meet him as soon as he is free from his prior engagements.
“I called him last week, and again yesterday. Last time he said he was busy with the death anniversary of his father. Later, he said he was in Surat, and he will meet as soon as he is free,” he said.
Dialogue is the best way to resolve differences: Gujarat Congress
Dialogue is the best way to resolve differences, this is what we and the high command believe in, Thakor further said.
The Patidar leader had joined the Congress ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and was later made the working president of the party’s state unit
On Monday, Hardik dismissed the rumours saying he has no such plans and said that he is upset with the state party leadership.
“People will say a lot of things. When Joe Biden won the US elections, I praised him. This is because his vice president is of Indian origin. But does this mean I will join Biden’s party?” he said while speaking to the media.
He had recently lauded the BJP for revoking Article 370 and construction of Ram Mandir saying such decisions of the party should be commended.
