The combined outstanding attack from both batting and bowling departments led Gujarat Titans to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad with a 38-run margin. The win places Gujarat Titans closer to playoff contention as they advance to the second position on the points table. The opening batting performance of Gujarat Titans resulted in 224 runs supported by six wickets during their 20-over innings. The hybrid also managed to reach 186 six-wicket score during their 20-over innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to secure victory even after Abhishek Sharma hit 74 runs from 41 deliveries with four boundaries and six aerial boundaries. Both Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna collected two wickets during Gujarat’s match while Ishant Sharma together with Gerald Coetzee obtained one wicket each.

The opening partnership between Travis Head and Abhishek amounted to 49 runs when their team began the chase against the target. Prasidh terminated the opening stand when he sent Head back to the pavilion after the batsman scored 20. The batsman Ishan Kishan returned to the pavilion following his 13 runs contribution to the inning. Abhishek paired up with Klaasen to form a suitable middle-order stand during which Abhishek achieved his half-century. Ishant Sharma ended the partnership when he dismissed Abhishek at bat. The batsman Klaasen left the field after accumulating 23 runs.

The double strike came from Siraj who dismissed Aniket Verma for 3 runs before Kamindu Mendis received a golden duck in the following delivery. The bowler achieved all three wickets in a row but missed out on his hat-trick. Both Pat Cummins and Nitish Reddy hastily shifted to an attacking mode yet they arrived too late in the match. The Tonk State team earned 21 runs without loss for Nitish who faced 10 balls and smashed a four together with two sixes and Cummins hit his 19 runs uncontested from 10 balls through a four and a six.
