Grammar Bowled Out! PCB’s ‘Stadia Upgradation’ Blunder Steals Spotlight in Venue Update

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to begin in Pakistan and Dubai from February 19. The opening match of the tournament will be played between New Zealand and Pakistan at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. However, ahead of the tournament, PCB haven’t been able to ensure the completion of renovation works at the venue. The renovation work which was supposed to be completed by December 31 is still under process and the videos shared by PCB on their official ‘X’ handle showcase how slow pace the renovation work is going. The PCB has to hand over all the venues to ICC by February 12 ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.

PCB shared an update on the renovation work of the three venues which include Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board is meant to entertain the fans by performing some hilarious acts that any other can’t. Such an incident happened when PCB shared a grammatically wrong headline while sharing the press release on the Stadium renovation work update. The headline read, ‘PCB Provides Stadia Upgradation Update’. The spelling of Stadium was wrong and the correct headline will be ‘PCB Provides Stadium Update’.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been under a lot of controversy ever since Pakistan was named as the host of the tournament. PCB has spent over 12 billion dollars on the upgrade of the three venues, however, at the present time they are running behind in the completion of the work. India will be playing all its matches in Dubai as per the hybrid model, whereas if India qualifies for the final then it will be played in Dubai otherwise Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the Champions Trophy 2025.
