Gehana Vasisth reacts to Raj Kundra’s arrest: ‘Humne koi p**n film nahin banayi. Na maine, na Raj ne

Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19, on charges of making pornographic content and publishing them through mobile applications. Kundra-led Armsprime Media Private Limited, a firm that was involved in sporting and other recreational activities, developed a mobile application called Hotshot, which has now become the centre of the alleged controversy surrounding pornographic content.

During the investigation, in February, Mumbai police raided a bungalow in Madh island and busted a live porn video filmmaking racket. As per reports, an FIR was registered against Kundra after a woman approached the police. As part of the probe, actress and model Gehana Vasisth was arrested by the property cell unit in Mumbai. She had reportedly shot at least eight such videos that were uploaded on the social media app for monetary consideration.

Now, following Kundra’s arrest, Gehana has opened up, giving a timeline of the events that took place, recounting her arrest and her days in jail.

Gehana stated, “Ongoing case ke bare mein itna bolna chahungi, jisme Raj bhi phas chukka hai, yeh same case hai, aur yeh puri tarah se galat case hai.” (I would like to say this much about the ongoing case, the one where both Raj and I have been accused is a false case.)

She further added, “Humne koi p**n film nahin banayi, na maine, na Raj ne, na Umesh ne, na Ryan ne. Baki log kya karte hai, humse unka koi lena dena nahin… hum ye char log, koi porn film nahin banate hain. Humne normally bold content banaya tha, jaise Ekta Kapoor karti hai, jaise Netflix hai, Amazon hai and other apps.” (We have not made any porn films. Neither Raj, Umesh, Ryan nor I were involved in making porn content. We had made normal bold content like the ones made by Ekta Kapoor or streamed on OTT apps like Netflix and Amazon)

She concluded by saying, “Jab woh banate hai aap log kehte hai, bold hai, erotic hai, but jab humne banaya toh apne porn ki category de di, that is wrong,” (When they make such content, you call them bold, erotic, but when we attempted something similar, it was categorised as porn.)

The actress in her statement also opened up about her harrowing time in jail following her arrest by Mumbai Crime Branch in February. She even recounted suffering from COVID-19, having fluctuating sugar levels and suffering a heart attack during the ordeal.
