The wait is finally over. The makers of Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi have unveiled the trailer of the much-awaited film on Friday (February 4). As expected, the trailer of the much-awaited flick managed to create anticipation among the audience. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial will showcase the story of Ganga, who is forced into sex trade at a young age. How she becomes the matriarch of Mumbai’s red-light area Kamathipura forms the crux of the story.
Alia Bhatt posted the trailer on her Instagram handle along with the caption, “GANGUBAI ZINDABAD. Trailer out now.” The video has received a positive response from the audience, who have lauded Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team for offering something new on the platter.
Tinsel town celebs including Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor shared appreciation posts for Alia Bhatt on social media. Anushka, who will make her return to Hindi cinema with Chakda Express, shared the trailer on her Instagram story and wrote, “What a firecracker of a trailer and actor Alia Bhatt.”
Janhvi Kapoor also lauded the Gully Boy actor and expressed her eagerness for the film. “Please I can’t keep calm. This is beyond insane. I can’t wait. Alia Bhatt you are a force of nature,” her post read.
The netizens showered Alia Bhatt and other actors with praises for delivering a power-packed performance. Ahead of the release of the trailer, the makers presented the first look of Ajay Devgn from Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Gangubai Kathiawadi, which has been delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will now hit the silver screens on February 25. The biographical crime drama also stars Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz and Indira Tiwari in key roles.
