Vijay Sethupathi, who is called Makkal Selvan by fans, has given several critically as well as commercially successful films at the box office in his career. Now, the actor has achieved a big milestone in the OTT world as he becomes the first Indian actor to have four releases on the OTT platforms.
His upcoming films Laabam, Tughlaq Durbar, Annabelle Sethupathi and Kadai Sivavasayi are gearing up for OTT release this month. Earlier, Fahadh Faasil was the only actor to have released three films on popular OTT platforms.
Laabam will hit the theatres on 9 September 2021. This is the first big-budget Tamil film to be released in theaters after the lockdown. At the same time it will release on Netflix ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. Sethupathi plays the role of a social activist who fights for farmers and innocent people. The film also talks about how the corporate and Industrial sectors plunder the resources for their own benefits. Directed by late S. P. Jananathan, Shruti Hassan plays a journalist in the film. It is produced by Vijay Sethupathi under the banner VSP Productions banner, along with Arumuga Kumar’s 7C’s Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
Touted to be a political thriller, Vijay’s Tughlaq Darbar is the next movie, which will be premiere on Sun TV on September 10. After the TV premiere, it will start streaming on Netflix from September 11. Directed by Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan, the political satire stars Raashi Khanna and Sethupathi in lead roles. Tughlaq Durbar is produced by Lalit Kumar under his home banner, Seven Screen Studio.
