Fresh Israeli Strikes Kill 45 in Gaza, Widespread Structural Collapse Reported

In a heart-wrenching incident from Gaza, more than 45 people were killed living near the strip  due to Israeli strikes, which also included 33 people living in a school turned shelter. According to the local health officials, people’s belongings were ignited while they were all asleep, which led to the mass destruction.

According to the Israeli army, all these sheltered buildings were a hub of “leading terrorists” and served as the “centre of command” for Hamas.

“The building was hit thrice and caught fire while the people were still asleep”, said the head of the ministry’s emergency service in Gaza. Online footage shows that the rescuers were struggling to put out the fire and recover the remains.

After the failed attempt of the ceasefire initiatives, this is Israel’s Aggressive attempt to achieve a complete “defeat of Hamas”

All this has been widely criticized by leaders across the world, while the European Union is considering measures if Israel does not put an end to the Gaza blockade. Israel’s blockade of aid entry to Gaza has led to the scarcity of basic necessities like food, medicine, and even clean water.

The Spanish foreign ministry has urged the imposition of sanctions against those “who want to ruin the two-state solution forever”.

Reports emerged across territories over the weekend about the Israeli strikes killing residents in Gaza. According to the Civil Defence Agency spokesman, Mahmud Bassal, 7 people were killed in Jabalia in the north, while two more were killed in strikes targeting tents in Central Gaza. One of the deceased was a seven-month pregnant woman.

Areas like Deir el-Balah, Beit Lahia, and Khan Yunis also recorded deadly strikes.

Absence of aid entry into the besieged Gaza Strip has created a humanitarian crisis at unmatched levels.

COGAT, which oversees civilian affairs under the defence ministry in Israel, said that around 107 trucks containing humanitarian aid were transferred to Gaza. The World Food Programme stresses that this is not nearly enough, as aid trucks mostly end up being looted.

The US-backed group, which was set to move aid into the Gaza Strip, has also resigned. The director of Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), Jake Wood, said that he felt compelled to resign as the mission could not adhere to “humanitarian principles.”
