The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Sunday has issued an alert to promote awareness of the four national-level helpline numbers amidst the second wave of Covid-19.

The Centre also issued an advisory for private television channels to help the government spread awareness about Covid-19 pandemic by displaying four national level helpline numbers.

  • 1075: National Helpline no. of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
  • 1098: Child Helpline no. of Ministry of Women & Child Development
  • 14567: Senior Citizens Helpline of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand)
  • 08046110007: Helpline number of National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) for psychological support

The government said it wants to create awareness about three things – Covid treatment protocol, Covid-appropriate behaviour and vaccination. Though the number of daily Covid-19 cases are witnessing a downward trend, it is still high, it said.

“Over the last several months, the government has created awareness through various instrumentalities and media platforms, including print, TV, radio, social media, etc for creating awareness. National helpline numbers for the benefit of the citizens were also created and propagated by the government,” the government advisory said.

A community support helpline was also operationalised by the Ministry of AYUSH to provide AYUSH-based approaches and solutions for the challenges raised by COVID-19. The toll-free helpline number is 14443.

National Health Authority (NHA) head RS Sharma also informed of opening 1075 COVID helpline for rural India to book vaccination slots.

On Saturday, the Haryana government launched an helpline number for children. People can may choose to seek psychological help while sitting at home by calling mobile number 9416108132
