Erling Haaland Commits Long-Term Future To Manchester City, Signs New Contract Of….

Manchester City has secured the long-term future of Erling Haaland with a remarkable contract extension that will see him remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2034. The Norwegian striker, whose original contract was set to end in 2027, has agreed to a new nine-and-a-half-year deal spanning ten seasons, according to confidential sources close to the negotiations.

Haaland’s statistical record has been nothing short of exceptional. In the Premier League, he maintains an impressive strike rate of one goal every 91 minutes, matching his Champions League efficiency of a goal every 92 minutes. His FA Cup performance is even more impressive, averaging a goal every 71 minutes.

Haaland’s Incredible Goalscoring Stats

His debut season (2022-23) with City proved to be his most outstanding, yielding 52 goals across all competitions with a goal every 79 minutes and a 28.7% shot conversion rate. While his scoring rate has gradually adjusted – dropping to a goal every 98 minutes last season and currently standing at one every 118 minutes with 22 goals this season – his impact remains significant.

Among Premier League players with over 5,000 minutes played, Haaland’s goal-per-minute ratio (91 minutes) stands unmatched, surpassing even City legend Sergio Aguero (108 minutes). With 79 Premier League goals, he already ranks third in City’s all-time Premier League scoring chart, behind only Aguero (184) and Sterling (91).

Currently 61st on the all-time Premier League scoring list, Opta’s projections suggest that if Haaland maintains his current scoring rate of 0.9 goals per game, he could surpass Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals by his 287th game. To achieve this milestone by the 2029-30 season, he would need to maintain his prolific form for the next 200 consecutive league games, building on his current tally of 87 appearances.
