The coach of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jwala Singh has opined that the youngester will hit two or more centuries in his first tour of England. Jaiswal got off to a dreamy beginning of the English summer, as he hit a brilliant hundred in the first game of the five-Test series against England at Headingley. Jaiswal, who opened the Indian batting, was cramping up throughout his historic display in the Leeds test. The left-handed batsman had hit 101 runs with 16 fours and a six before getting out having become the first Indian opener to score a Test century at the historic venue.

Jwala Singh’s Statement For Yashasvi Jaiswal

“Given the coach’s confidence, he might score at least two more centuries. I had expected two centuries in Australia, but that didn’t happen. However, I think he’ll score at least two more centuries here. He’s worked hard on his game,” Jwala Singh said during an exclusive chat with NDTV.

“The way he scored the century and the shots he played are remarkable. I’ve known him since he was 12, and he’s mentally tough. His boundary shots were controlled, and this innings will be remembered for a long time. It reminded me of Sourav Ganguly’s innings at Lord’s. Left-handed centuries have a special class,” Singh was further quoted by NDTV.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Performance On Day 1 Of 1st Test

Yashasvi Jaiswal produced an outstanding display in the first day of the 1st Test against England in the Headingley as he scored a hauteur controlled century. He made a composed single to reach his hundred and held his bat and helmet in celebration portraying the euphoria of work being rewarded. Jaiswal showed a sense of maturity, making a great shot selection and temperament. He and KL Rahul shared a solid opening partnership of 91 runs and laid the groundwork for the massive Indian score of 359 for 3. He was a big stride, particularly to pace, and passed the tests of the early swing and exploited loose bowling with classic boundaries to show his worth in difficult English pitches.
