Television actor Pearl V Puri was recently arrested by Vasai police for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2019. Waliv police in Vasai arrested Puri and produced him before a court that sent him to judicial custody for two weeks.
The incident created a stir in the television industry, with many celebrities coming out in support of the actor, claiming that he is innocent. Television personalities like Anita Hassanandani, Krystle D’souza, Arjun Bijlani, and others have shown support for Pearl. Among them, producer Ekta Kapoor, too, has stood up for Pearl, claiming that the charges are false.
Ekta had taken to her Instagram to share an image with the actor and pen a long note where she had claimed that Pearl is innocent and that his name has been dragged into an apparent fight between the victim’s mom and her husband. And now, an audio clip that is an alleged recording of a conversation between Ekta and the victim’s mother has surfaced
In the audio clip, the girl’s mother is claiming that she knows that Pearl is innocent and further states that her estranged husband is intentionally including Pearl’s name to malign her image.
During the conversation, what appears to be Ekta’s voice can be heard telling the mom “You should tell the world the truth,” adding that the lies are tarnishing Pearl’s reputation.
The woman is heard replying, “I am with Pearl only, I am with the truth, because I know nothing like that has happened.” The conversation also veers towards the fact if somebody is using the child to make a false allegation then there has to be a counter case.
Towards the end of the conversation, the woman who seems to be Ekta can be heard admitting that bad things happen, but if it has not happened and is just being used to put somebody into a problem, then the girl’s mother has to stand up for the boy (Pearl).Meanwhile, DCP Sanjay Patil (Zone 2, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar), in an earlier interaction with ETimes TV said that the father of the victim had initially filed a complaint in the Versova Police Station and then it was transferred to the Waliv Police Station. According to DCP Patil, the victim used to accompany her mother on the set of a TV show. And the police arrested Pearl on basis of an alleged incident that the victim shared with them.
