Enforcement Directorate (ED) sent another summons to Robert Vadra in connection with a land deal in Gurugram, Haryana. Earlier, ED sent him a summons on April 8, and when he did not appear before ED, another summons was issued.

The ED is investigating the case of a land deal struck by Vadra. He bought 3.5 acres of land for Rs 7.5 crore in Gurugram in 2008. Later, the land was sold to DLF at 58 crore. The land was bought in the name of Sky Light Hospitality.

The land was bought in the name of Vadra’s Sky Light Hospitality.

The ED will record his statements under the Prevention pf Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He was also questioned by ED in different cases.

In 2012, the Director General, consolidation of holdings and land records, and senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka invalidated the 3.5-acre land deal. The BJP accused the Congress of irregularities in land purchases, making it a major issue in the 2014 Lok Sabha and state elections.

Previously, the slow development of the probe into the alleged anomalies had caused concerns. Congress, Vadra, and Haryana’s chief minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had constantly denied any wrongdoing.
