As the investigation into the Delhi car bomb blast progresses, more revelations are coming to light. One of them is the relationship between key accused Muzammil Ahmed Ganai and Jaish’s female commander, Shaheen Shahid. Both are accused of the Red Fort explosion that took place on November 10. Muzammil has also confessed that Shaheen raised funds for the Jaish module. Until now, it was believed that Dr Muzammil and Dr. Shaheen were in love, but Muzammil’s revelation has shocked everyone. According to news reports, they were married in 2023.

Muzammil and Shaheen’s Nikah was held at…

Delhi car blast: Muzammil is supposed to have claimed that the two were a couple and had a “nikah” (marriage) ceremony in September 2023 at a mosque near Al-Falah University. According to Sharia law, a “mehr” of ₹5,000-6,000 was agreed upon for the marriage. This was the alleged reason behind funding Muzammil for his terror plans.

Shaheen Shahid raised funds for Jaish

A Times of India report suggest that Shaheen provided ₹2.7-2.8 million to the Jaish module. This was for purchasing weapons and explosives. However, she told interrogators that this money was given as ‘zakat’ (religious donation).

Probe into South Kashmir Terror Module

Investigative agencies are probing modules operating in South Kashmir. According to the NIA, multiple leads are being followed across states to trace those linked to the attack. Officials are also looking into modules in South Kashmir that include overground workers involved in supplying and selling weapons to terrorists. This network is believed to have been active in Baramulla, Srinagar, Anantnag, and Ganderbal since 2016, acting as an arms pipeline under the direction of Pakistan-based handlers. Muzammil and Umar are suspected of selling the weapons used in the attack.

Meanwhile, a Delhi court on Wednesday extended the NIA custody of Aamir Rashid Ali for 10 days in the Red Fort blast case. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna also sent Soyab to NIA custody for 10 days in the same case. He is accused of providing logistical support to terrorist Umar before the car bomb blast. The agency told the court that further interrogation and gathering of facts is necessary.
