Donald Trump Previously Donated $6000 To Kamala Harris’ Campaign

President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the upcoming presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s new candidate. This development wasn’t entirely surprising, given the growing pressure on Biden after his lackluster performance in last month’s presidential debate. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump’s previous donations to Kamala Harris’ campaigns have been circulating widely on social media.

The 45th President of the US made two donations to the campaigns of his potential rival. Financial records reveal that on September 26, 2011, and February 20, 2013, during Kamala Harris’s run for California Attorney General, Donald Trump contributed $5,000 and $1,000 to her campaigns, respectively.

Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter, also contributed $2,000 to Senator Harris’s campaign in 2014, according to reports. A representative for Harris clarified that she did not solicit this donation from Trump. Additionally, a 2020 Sacramento Bee report noted that Harris donated the funds to a nonprofit organization that supports civil and human rights for Central Americans, shortly after Trump launched his presidential campaign.

According to a report, Donald Trump was known for making significant donations to Democrats during that period. He contributed $1,000 to then-Senator Joe Biden’s campaign in 2001 and donated $5,000 to the New York State Democratic Party in 2002.

Donald Trump also donated $10,000 to Andrew Cuomo’s campaign for New York Attorney General in 2006 and $15,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2010, he supported Kristen Gillibrand’s US Senate campaign.

Trump made several contributions to Hillary Clinton’s campaigns, including $2,100 and $200 in 2006, and another $600 in 2007, as reported by OpenSecrets. Additionally, he is said to have donated at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation.
