In response to the devastating wildfires affecting Los Angeles, The Walt Disney Company has pledged a generous $15 million donation to assist with immediate relief and rebuilding efforts. The funds will be directed to organizations providing on-the-ground support, including the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and others.

CEO Bob Iger’s Commitment To the Community

In a statement, Disney CEO Bob Iger emphasized the company’s dedication to the community during this challenging time. “As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this unbelievable devastation,” Iger stated.

Iger also took the opportunity to honor Walt Disney’s profound connection to the city. “Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with little more than his limitless imagination, and it was here that he chose to make his home, pursue his dreams, and create extraordinary storytelling that means so much to so many people around the world,” he said. “We are proud to provide assistance to this resilient and vibrant community in this moment of need.”

Other Companies Join The Effort

Paramount Global, led by co-chiefs Brian Robbins, Chris McCarthy, and George Cheeks, has also committed to helping the Los Angeles community. In a memo to their staff, the company announced a $1 million donation to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, Red Cross, Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen, and Best Friends Animal Society.

As the wildfires continue to devastate parts of Los Angeles, these corporate contributions are vital in aiding the immediate recovery and rebuilding of the community.
