A video of Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma being stopped by a security guard outside the Lord’s Cricket Ground went viral on social media. The incident took the internet by storm. However, veteran cricketer and commentator Dinesh Karthik has now addressed the incident, explaining the entire episode.

The viral video shows Jitesh trying to enter the Lord’s Stadium during the Test match between England and India. However, the security guard at the entrance didn’t recognise him and denied entry even after Jitesh tried to explain. Later in the video, Jitesh spots Dinesh Karthik nearby and calls out to him. Initially Karthik does not hear him, but later pays attention to his voice and walks over. After his intervention, the guard allows him to enter.

As soon as the video went viral, people on social media started reacting to the incident. A few netizens raised questions about Jitesh’s fan following on social platforms, stating, “What if Dinesh hadn’t heard his call?”

Reacting to this, former Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik posted on his X account detailing the entire incident.

“These are some issues with social media that a lot face.” Karthik wrote.

“I had invited Jitesh to the commentary box. He reached there, I came down and took him upstairs where he met everyone. This place is located below the media centre and not the main entrance of the stadium,” he added.
