The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)  blasted Pakistan after it blamed India for a deadly suicide bombing attack in the Waziristan region. Dismissing the Pakistani Army’s claims, the MEA Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen an official statement by the Pakistan Army seeking to blame India for the attack in Waziristan on 28 June. We reject this statement with the contempt it deserves.”

Suicide Attack Kills 16 Pakistan Soldiers

MEA’s response comes after 16 Pakistani soldiers were killed on Saturday when a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a military convoy in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. More than a dozen civilians, including children, were also injured in the deadly attack. According to AFP reports, a member of the Pakistani Taliban carried out the attack, police and local government officials said.

Pakistani Taliban Claims Responsibility Of The Attack

Meanwhile, a police officer said that the roofs of two houses collapsed due to the explosion, wounding six children. The responsibility of the attack was later claimed by the suicide bomber wing of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur armed group, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban.
