Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer To Botafogo? CR7 Offered Big Deal With Surprise Twist Ahead Of FIFA Club World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo has signaled that his time with Al-Nassr may be coming to an end once his contract concludes on June 30, 2025. This revelation has quickly ignited speculation across the football world, with clubs scrambling to position themselves for a potential marquee signing before the FIFA Club World Cup kicks off. As the transfer window opens this Sunday, several top sides are eager to move quickly.

Uncertainty Over Early Move

Although Ronaldo’s contract technically runs until the end of June, teams interested in signing him before the FIFA Club World Cup begins may need to negotiate a buyout or compensate Al-Nassr. That complicates any immediate switch, though it hasn’t slowed the speculation surrounding his future. A number of clubs are preparing offers, hoping to complete a deal in time for the global tournament.

Al-Nassr Keen To Retain, Al-Hilal Enters the Frame

Despite his farewell, Al-Nassr reportedly hasn’t given up on keeping the Portuguese star. The club is believed to have tabled a renewed offer in an effort to convince him to stay. However, Saudi rivals Al-Hilal are also in pursuit and have reportedly made a formal approach, raising the stakes in the domestic league.

Unexpected Interest From Morocco

In an unexpected twist, Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca has also reportedly offered Ronaldo. While less likely on paper, their interest highlights just how widespread the desire is to bring in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, even outside of Europe and the Middle East’s typical powerhouses.

Botafogo Offer Comes With Crystal Palace Twist

According to Jorge Nicola, the most intriguing offer has come from Brazilian side Botafogo, who are part of Eagle Football Holdings a multi-club ownership group that also includes Lyon, RWD Molenbeek, and Premier League side Crystal Palace. Talks are underway that could see Ronaldo join Botafogo while also being granted a long-term business stake in the group. This arrangement can also help Ronaldo be back into the Premier League through Crystal Palace, combining a playing deal with an investment opportunity.

“Ronaldo has in his hands an important proposal from Botafogo to play in the Club World Cup and for the remainder of the season,” Nicola states on YouTube.

“This offer includes the possibility of becoming a partner with John Textor in his clubs.

“Ronaldo continues to play at a very high level and Al-Nassr has suggested an extension there worth €16.5 million a month [£88m].

“John Textor’s Botafogo proposal is similar, not in terms of value, but in terms of a percentage of shares.

“Ronaldo has not yet responded but there is an enormous expectation of seeing him become a Botafogo player for the Club World Cup.”

What’s Next For Ronaldo?

According to Football Transfers, Ronaldo is considering the offer from Eagle Football Holdings due to its dual benefits. It not only gives him a chance to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup with Botafogo facing sides like PSG, Atletico Madrid, and Seattle Sounders but also provides a potential transition into a business and ownership role once he retires from the game.
