COVID-19 vaccination: India marks major milestone, over 50 crore doses administered so far

 India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage on Friday crossed the 50 crore-landmark milestone.

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter to announce the historic milestone that India achieved today.

Mandaviya congratulated the countrymen and thanked the health workers who are working tirelessly in the COVID pandemic era.

Lauding Prime Minister’s initiative of providing free COVID-19 vaccine to all the countrymen, the health minister presented the data of the vaccine coverage.

Currently, Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V vaccine doses are being administered in India.

Covishield is being manufactured by Serum Institute of India, Covaxin being developed by Bharat Biotech and Sputnik V vaccine is a Russian vaccine being marketed by Dr Reddy’s Laboratories in India.
