Congress rebel MLA Aditi Singh attacks Priyanka Gandhi, says ‘she has run out of issues to politicise’

Once a close aide of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress rebel MLA Aditi Singh in a scathing attack on the Congress general secretary said she has run out of issues to politicise.

Her statement comes after Priyanka on Friday claimed that the Central government took the decision to repeal the three farms laws due to approaching assembly elections and questioned the Centre for being silent when farmers were called “Aandolanjeevi, goons, terrorists and traitors.”

“As far as Lakhmipur and other issues are concerned, Priyanka Gandhi always politicised it. CBI probe is underway into the Lakhmipur incident and the Supreme Court is taking cognisance of it. If she doesn’t trust the institutions, I can’t understand who does she trust,” said the Rae Bareli MLA.

‘Priyanka is only politicising the matter’

On Priyanka’s reaction to the farm laws, Singh said Gandhi had a problem when Bills were brought and she has a problem when they have been repealed.

“What does she want? She should say it clearly. She is only politicising the matter. She has now run out of issues to politicise,” she said.

Earlier today, Priyanka urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to share the stage with Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra during the conference of DGPs keeping in mind farmers’ interest.

She also sought the removal of Mishra from his post over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence in which his son is accused.

Priyanka Gandhi made the appeal to the prime minister through a letter that she read out in front of reporters hours before the commencement of the DGPs conference.

“Yesterday, while addressing the people of the country, you had said that with true mind and pious heart and keeping in mind the interests of the farmers, an unprecedented decision to repeal the farm laws was taken. If this is true, then getting justice delivered to the families affected by the Lakhimpur Kheri violence should be your top priority,” the Congress general secretary said.
