Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Thursday fired seven questions at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ‘development of Kashi’ after he visited Varanasi today for the inauguration of a number of development projects at Varanasi. He also inaugurates International Cooperation and Convention Centre – ‘Rudrakash’, constructed with Japanese assistance, where he also planted a Rudraksh tree.

“A river of development is flowing in Kashi. This city’s ancient glory is now existing in its modern form. It never stops or gets tired. During Covid-19, when the country stopped, Kashi stayed balanced and disciplined, but the flow of development continued. ‘Rudraksh’ has a modern shine and cultural aura. This project potrays India-Japan ties, and gives scope for future opportunities. Today, with the efforts of both countries, a new chapter has been written on development and bilateral relations,” PM Modi said.

Now Congress leader Randeep Surjewala has launched 7 questions at PM Modi. Taking to his Twitter handle, he said:

1) Was the filth of Ganga river cleaned up?

2) Did Kashi become Kyoto?

3) Why was Kashi left in a bad condition during the coronavirus period?

4) Any industry in Kashi?

5) Rudraksh Kendra was used by commoners to hold marriages at low cost. Who are you serving by giving it to private company?

6) In name of Baba Vishwanath Corridor, why were temples of mythological period demolished?

7) Why was crescent-shape of Ganga, the identity of Banaras, spoiled?

Meanwhile, among other key projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister today are multi-level parking at Godaulia, Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development and a three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway.

“Under PM Modi’s governance, Kashi has made a new identity in country and world. New Kashi is reaching new heights in development. This smart Kashi has become a model for the country and the world. PM Modi’s vision and inspiration are pushing people to new heights,” said the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister while addressing the inauguration program
