Acomplaint alleging anti-national activities has been lodged against the youth-led satirical organisation Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) after it held a large-scale protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday. The complaint alleges that the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) was involved in activities funded through foreign sources. It also links the case to a protest organised by Abhijeet Dipke in Delhi over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and irregularities in CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, shortly after his return from the United States.
Massive Protest at Jantar Mantar
Thousands of supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar on Saturday for the protest, holding posters and banners. The demonstration was led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke after the group received permission from Delhi Police. Most participants included school and college students as well as young professionals.
Participation of Sonam Wangchuk
Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also arrived in Delhi to take part in the protest. He had earlier said he would join the demonstration if no action was taken by June 5.
Peaceful Protest Appeal
Ahead of the protest, Abhijeet Dipke asked supporters to keep the demonstration peaceful. He also requested them to greet police personnel with flowers and maintain calm throughout the event.
Tight Security in Delhi
Security was strengthened across Delhi on Saturday. Police deployed extra forces at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, border entry points, and other sensitive areas. More than 1,000 police personnel were placed on duty in New Delhi and nearby locations as a precaution.
Officials also monitored cab services like Ola and Uber for unusual travel activity toward Jantar Mantar. Social media platforms were also kept under watch to maintain law and order.
Background of Cockroach Janata Party
The Cockroach Janata Party was started as a satirical response to remarks reportedly made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing, where he used terms like “cockroaches” and “parasites.” The group later gained a large online following, reaching around 22 million followers.
About Abhijeet Dipke and the Movement
Abhijeet Dipke, a political campaigner studying at Boston University, launched the movement to highlight issues faced by India’s youth. The group used social media to mobilise support for the protest, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET and OSM-related controversies.
