Christian Pulisic And Milan Suffer Setback In UCL, Face Decisive Second Leg

U.S. player Christian Pulisic and AC Milan lost 1-0 to Dutch team Feyenoord in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Knockout Round Playoff on Wednesday. Playing in Rotterdam, Milan found it hard to get through Feyenoord’s defense. Pulisic had a hard time in attack and was taken off after 60 minutes. American Yunus Musah could not play because of a ban, due to a red card in the last Group Stage match against Dinamo Zagreb. With the second game at the San Siro, Milan needs a big win to change their fate.

Milan’s Attack Falters In Tough Conditions

On a cold, rainy night in the Netherlands, AC Milan struggled to find their game. Feyenoord took a lucky chance to win 1-0. Igor Paixao scored from far away, and the ball went through Milan keeper Mike Maignan’s hands—a mistake he will regret. Christian Pulisic was quiet, making 18 of 22 passes and having only 36 touches with little attack. But in the second leg, Milan will get a lift as Yunus Musah returns from a ban.

Milan Face Quick Turnaround After Feyenoord Defeat

Milan’s star striker, Santiago Gimenez, who came to the club in January for about $40 million from his old team Feyenoord, saw his new team lose 1-0 against them. This loss happened on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League Knockout Round Playoff first leg. Now, Milan must quickly refocus on Serie A with a game against Hellas Verona this weekend. Soon after, they face Feyenoord again for the second leg on Tuesday at the San Siro. They will have Yunus Musah back from a ban, and with the home crowd, they’ll look to turn things around in the Champions League. Milan needs a better attack to break Feyenoord’s defense and keep their dreams alive.
