Chirag Paswan launches attack on Pasupati Kumar Paras, says ‘feel orphaned due to his actions’

After being removed from the post of party chief, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan accused “few people” and Janata Dal (United) of trying to break the party.

Addressing a press conference, Paswan said when his father was in the hospital, JDU made several attempts to break the LJP.

“Some people were making attempts to break the party when my father was in the hospital. My father asked party leaders, including my uncle (Pashupati Kumar Paras), about the same. Some people weren’t ready for the struggle we had to go through,” said Chirag Paswan.

Some people have constantly been trying to break LJP: Chirag Paswan

The actor-turned-politician said that people showed their faith in LJP in the Bihar elections, and the party never compromised on its morals, but some people have constantly been trying to break LJP.

“All of this had conspired when I wasn’t well. I even tried to speak to my uncle at that time, but I failed,” he added.

Paswan also said that he, including his mother, continuously tried to get in touch with Paras even after the elections if he had any grievances.

I feel orphaned now due to my uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras’s actions, added the LJP leader.

On being removed as LJP’s national president, Paswan said that the decision to appoint the Leader of House is taken by Parliamentary committee not sitting MPs.

‘Uncle, other rebels want to do comfortable politics’

As per the party’s constitution, National President can only be removed if he/she dies or resigns, he said.

He further attacked his uncle Pashupati Paras and other rebels saying they want to remain in “comfortable politics”.

“Several party members, including my uncle, did not actively participate in the poll campaign. Some people wanted to live in a comfort zone. I agree and accept that if LJP had gone with the JD(U) and NDA in Bihar, we would have swept the Bihar polls,” said Paswan.

He also said he would have “happily” made his uncle the parliamentary party leader if he had come to him first.

Meanwhile, Pashupati Paras has defended the decision to remove Chirag Paswan as the national president of LJP, saying he took the step to save the party.
