Virat Kohli has etched his name in history, he has become the top Indian batter and an all format player. Kohli has left a significant impact in the T20I format. He has scored 4188 runs in 125 matches at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04.

 

75 Runs In T20 World Cup 2024 Final Against South Africa

This was the most crucial match of Virat Kohli’s T20I. Virat had not found form with only 75 runs in his last seven innings, but in a crucial match like this finale, he came out batting strongly to score 76 runs off 59 deliveries, which included six fours and two sixes, while India reached a pretty decent total of 176/7 in 20 overs from 34/3. The match had a very exciting finish as India triumphed in the title when India won by seven runs on the last over against its opponent in a gripping and nail-biting end to the match.

Perhaps the best T20I innings ever, Virat Kohli produced a breathtaking knock when India was struggling at 31/4 while chasing 160 runs in front of a packed MCG crowd. Along with Hardik Pandya, Kohli masterminded a comeback of sorts, scoring an unbeaten 82 runs off 53 balls, which included six fours and four sixes. Together, the pair forged a century partitipanship that bailed India out to thriller victory by four wickets with the last ball being bowled.

Virat Kohli was not that great at the beginning of the game in the first T20I of the series in December 2019 as he managed to score only 25 runs off 25 balls. But it was a turnaround in quick time as he completed 94 not out off 50 deliveries with six fours and six sixes which helped India chase a challenging target of 208 runs and win the match easily with eight balls remaining in hand.

Once again at Mohali, Kohli led a successful run chase for an overhauled score of 161 as India suffered a precarious situation at 49/3. Emerge from that, the team needed just 39 of the remaining 18 balls on which Kohli answered the situation heroically as he scored 32 off a mere 11 balls and India won through, thereby qualifying for the Super 10 stage.

72* Against South Africa, 2014

Kohli was in the limelight when India needed 173 runs to reach the final from the semi-final, and he did not disappoint. He scored 72 runs off 43 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes, that took India to the final. Kohli was, however, awarded Player of the Tournament, having accumulated a remarkable 319 runs throughout the competition, finishing as runners-up.
