‘Changing CM won’t wash away BJP’s sins’: Sachin Pilot confident Congress will form govt in Uttarakhand

Congress leader Sachin Pilot  warned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that changing the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand will not make any difference to the next year’s Assembly elections in the state. He also exuded confidence that Congress is poised to form the government in the mountain state in 2022.

While speaking to media in Haridwar, the former Rajasthan Deputy CM said, “Changing the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand is not going to wash away the sins of the BJP and the wrongdoings of the party cannot be covered up.”

“Here in Congress everyone is united. We will form the government here in the coming elections,” he added.

Earlier this year on March 9, Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned from the post of Uttarakhand CM following meetings with BJP’s high command in New Delhi. According to reports, Trivendra Rawat resigned due to growing dissent among MLAs and ministers against him.

Tirath Singh Rawat was named the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand following Trivendra Rawat’s resignation.

Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot’s call for unity in Congress has come amid reports of a growing rift between the Pilot and Gehlot camps in Rajasthan.

Reportedly, the camp of Sachin Pilot has been demanding quick implementation of promises made to them 11 months back after they came back to the fold post rebellion against state leadership.

They are demanding a cabinet expansion and political appointments at the earliest, said reports.
