As the Champions Trophy 2025 is drawing near, the speculations around Rohit Sharma’s Captaincy have been increasing. But there is one Indian Captain who has been most successful in this ICC tournament. M.S Dhoni who remained India’s captain for a tenure of 11 years has represented the country in 200 matches. He has won 110 matches and faced defeat in 74 matches. Under his captaincy, only 4 matches were tied. He has a win percentage of 55%.

Who Beats Dhoni?

Although his overall captaincy tenure faced many successes if we talk about the Champions Trophy performance of India under M.S Dhoni, he was featured as skipper for the ‘Men in Blue’ in 8 Champions Trophy Matches in which he has led to the team to victory in 6 matches and lost 1 match. 1 game was unfortunately led to no result. He has a win percentage (%) of 75 which is the second highest among any other Champions Trophy captain. Only Pakistan’s Sarfaraz Khan outshines Dhoni in win % with a small margin of 5%.

Strengthening the middle order, Dhoni usually came at No. 5 or 6. According to Cricmetric, Dhoni has played 8 innings in the Champions Trophy and managed to score 183 runs with a strike rate of 84.3 which includes 2 half centuries as well.
