Champions Trophy: Pakistan Still In Race To Qualify For The Semifinals! See How

Pakistan faced a brutal defeat by India during the Champions Trophy match held at Dubai International Stadium, UAE. India managed to win one of the greatest clashes of the cricketing world by 6 wickets with Virat Kohli being awarded the Player of the Match for his 100* in 111 balls. He played with a strike rate of 90.09. This was Virat Kohli’s 82nd century, 51th in the ODIs. His century drought ended after 15 months when he hit his last century against New Zealand in 2023 ODI World Cup. India has now sealed its position in the semifinals.

How can Pakistan still qualify?

Pakistan has lost both of its matches in the Champions Trophy. Pakistan has still left some hope to qualify for the semifinals and play against India. This could take place only when New Zealand losses both its matches against Bangladesh and India. Pakistan can qualify for the semifinals based on the net run rate. If New Zealand beats Bangladesh today then Pakistan will be out of the race for the semifinals and New Zealand will play against India to qualify for the Finals.

What Rizwan said after losing the match?

“For now, we can say that it’s over. This is the truth. In the next match, we’ll see what Bangladesh does with New Zealand, what New Zealand does with India, and what we do. It’s a long journey. Yes, we have hope and belief in Allah. Our dependence on Champions Trophy has now come on other teams. And as a captain, I honestly don’t like this,” Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan said after losing

Although Pakistan is out of the top 4 race but Pakistan will try to win the next match against Bangladesh in order to keep their hopes alive.
