In the Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan had to face defeat by 60 runs against New Zealand in the very first match. Babar Azam scored the highest 64 runs in the opening match against New Zealand, even after this he is being criticized a lot.

Babar is being called the villain of this defeat, because he batted very slowly, so the team had to face defeat. Now former Pakistan captain Basit Ali has expressed anger over Babar’s slow batting. During a conversation on a TV channel, he vented out his anger on Babar.

‘Babur does not understand good things’

Basit Ali said, ‘People call Babar Azam a traitor, so why not take Babar Azam’s name first? Why don’t you take Babar’s name? What do you mean Babar was playing for 50? Was he not playing for the country? He scored 50 runs in 81 balls and scored 64 runs in total 90 balls.

Will anyone ask Babar whether he was playing for the country or for himself? Salman Ali Agha played better than him. People on social media say that I speak ill of Babar, but when I say good things, does he understand? He doesn’t understand.

Match Scenario

Actually, the first match of Champions Trophy 2025 was played between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi. The Kiwi team scored 320 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 50 overs, in response to which the Pakistan team was reduced to 260 runs in 47.2 overs.

For the team, Babar Azam scored 60 runs in 90 balls with the help of 6 fours and 1 six, while the team expected a fast innings from him, because Pakistan was chasing a mountain-like target of 321 runs. Now Pakistan has to play its second match against India on February 23.
