CAT on Netflix is the story of Gurnam, a crime-thriller then narrates the tale of drugs, deceit, and remission. Randeep Hooda takes on the role of Gurnam, and he has truly managed to put up yet another effortless performance with this one. The actor spoke to Times Now Digital about how he does not let trolls bother him, among other things.

RANDEEP HOODA ON TROLLS AND COMPLAINTS VIEWERS MIGHT HAVE

For any project revolving around politics, among other topics, there’s often a strong reaction online and from the viewers. Ask Randeep if he pays heed to them, and he says, “If you go by that fear, you are going to limit your creativity, limit your story choices, limit your expression, so I for one, have never thought of that. My job as an artist is not to be a people pleaser.”
Randeep further added, “An artist needs to be true to their art and put it out there, people can experience an individual piece of art – it’s not about homogenisation or sanctness, so I have never thought of that. Anything you do, people will have something to say – kya pehna hai, kya kha raha, but you cannot listen to everybody. It is like I want to get offended, what have you got? (laughs).”

CREATOR BALVINDER SINGH JANUJA ON TROLLS

Creator, and co-director of the Netflix series CAT, Balvinder adds, “You want to tell your story with honesty, and even we don’t do that amount of research to go ask everyone whether they like it. The story that you are narrating, of a place it belongs to, or on the basis of your research, you try to show it that way. If it is a human story, people will relate to it, and if you show it with honesty, people will connect, some will get offended, but you can’t do much about it.”
