BTS’ J-Hope bids adieu to 2021 with a series of snaps reflecting back on the year: ‘It was so hard but I had fun’

How was 2021 for you? If you ask BTS the same question, they would have to say ‘mind-blowing’, after the staggering success they achieved this year. Granted, they may have released only two songs as a group, but the immense popularity of Butter was enough to cement their names in the Guinness Book of World Records for a long time ahead.

As the year nears its end today, December 31, J-Hope has his own set of personal thoughts to share with ARMY before they embark on a new chapter of their lives with 2022. Taking to Instagram, J-Hope penned a lengthy note, thoughtfully in both Korean and English, so that all ARMYs across the world could understand what he wanted to convey before 2021 officially ends.

When he reflects back on what kind of the year 2021 was, he comes to the conclusion that 2021 was “a year of trying lots of new and different things. A year of reflecting on the person Jung Ho-seok and his life. Maybe a year like the brilliant flames of a finale for both j-hope and BTS.”

Referencing the fact that BTS finally caught a break from their busy schedules for the first time in two years, J-Hope mentions that their time off has led him to reflect quite a bit. “The definitions if I look for them are innumerable. For the first time I’m spending the end of the year as my own self, with a chance to look back on 2021 and contemplate its meaning. “This is what it really means to have time just for me,” that’s how I feel now.”

When it comes to what he got this year as well as what he would like to give back in 2022, his answer is, “It was a year of boundless love, expectations and encouragement for which I’m thankful and thankful again, and I ready myself so that in 2022 I can give back what I’ve received.”

Showing nothing but excitement for the coming year, J-Hope reveals he wants to make music and perform; two things he loves immensely. “Barring something unforeseen, I think I’ll continue doing music and performance that I love. I think that’s how I take a step towards happiness for myself!! It was so hard but I had fun and I was happy. Adieu~ 2021,” he signed off.

Of course, his personal little note for fans has caused immense bounds of love for the rapper on social media. Showering him with their own love and support, ARMY seems to be more than happy to end this year with his thoughtful words.
