Bangla Tigers square off against The Chennai Braves in the 12th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021/22 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, November 23, at 9:30 PM (IST).
Both the teams have not had a great run in the tournament so far. Bangla Tigers have only managed to win one out of their three games and are fourth on the points table. On the other hand, The Chennai Braves have lost all three games and are at fifth place on the table, searching for their maiden win in the tournament.
Bangla Tigers lost their first two matches. However, they finally crossed the line against defending champions Northern Warriors. Northern Warriors posted a total of 126/4 batting first. Luke Wood, James Faulkner, Isuru Udana, and Karim Janat all picked a wicket each. Bangla Tigers were in trouble at one stage in the chase, being reduced to 58/5. However, Will Jacks and Benny Howell then joined forces, after which there was no looking back. Will Jacks struck an unbeaten 22-ball 57 while Benny Howell raced his way to 35 runs off just 11 deliveries. Bangla Tigers got over the line in 9.1 overs eventually with five wickets to spare.
The Chennai Braves continued their losing streak against Team Abu Dhabi last time out. They put up a good effort with the bat, piling on 131/2 batting first. Bhanuka Rajapaksa top-scored with 54 off just 29 deliveries. His fellow Sri Lankan teammates Angelo Perera (32*) and Dasun Shanaka (23*) played vital cameos in the end to give them a good finish.
Their bowling, however, was not up to the mark as they failed to defend the total. Team Abu Dhabi easily chased the target with four deliveries and eight wickets to spare as it was a comfortable win for them. Their batters have done a decent job but the bowlers will have to up their game.
While The Chennai Braves eye their first win, Bangla Tigers will look to build on the momentum they have gained coming into this fixture.
