Bruno Fernandes Celebrates Juan Mata’s A-League Goal Amid Man United’s Difficult Run

Bruno Fernandes has demonstrated his loyalty and admiration for former Man United teammate Juan Mata by sending a heartfelt congratulatory message after Mata scored his first goal for Western Sydney Wanderers. Mata, who spend seven-and-a-half years at Old Trafford following his departure from Chelsea, made 285 appearances for the club before moving on in the summer of 2022. Fernandes’ gesture highlights the close bond between the two players, with the Manchester United star acknowledging Mata’s achievement in his new chapter of football.

Bruno Fernandes Pays Tribute To Juan Mata After A-League Goal

After leaving Man United Juan Mata went on to play for Galatasaray before experiencing a difficult stint in Japan with Vissel Kobe, where he made just one appearance. However, since joining Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia, the Spaniard has enjoyed more consistent playing time. Mata scored his first goal in the A-League during a 3-2 defeat to Macarthur on New Year’s Day, and Bruno Fernandes wasted no time in paying tribute to his former teammate on social media.

Fernandes And De Gea Praise Mata’s Goal Amid United’s Struggles

Bruno Fernandes commented on a video of Juan Mata’s first A-League goal, posted by the official A-League Instagram, saying: “The year changes but magic never disappears @juanmatagarcia,” with a heart-eyes emoji. Mata’s former Manchester United teammate, David de Gea, also joined in the praise, commenting “The left foot” with an eyes emoji. While Mata is thriving in Australia, it has been a challenging period for Fernandes and Manchester United, as they have lost their last three games.

Fernandes Set To Return For United’s Crucial Clash Against Liverpool

Man United’s struggles in the Premier League have continued all season, with the team currently sitting in 14th place despite replacing Erik ten Hag with Ruben Amorim. Bruno Fernandes has faced criticism for a lack of discipline, having been shown three red cards this season, although one was overturned. He was absent for Monday’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle after a red card in the previous match against Wolves, where he received two yellow cards. However, Fernandes is expected to return for United’s upcoming match against arch-rivals Liverpool, as they look to pull off a surprise victory against Arne Slot’s side, who have lost only once in the league this season.
