Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on Wednesday on a five-nation visit. During this, he will participate in the BRICS summit and meet the leaders of Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina and Namibia to further strengthen bilateral relations.

PM Modi will start his five-nation visit with Ghana. This will be the Prime Minister’s first bilateral visit to the African country. During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold talks with the President of Ghana to review the strong bilateral partnership and discuss further avenues to enhance it through economic, energy, and defence collaboration, and development cooperation partnership.

This visit will reaffirm the shared commitment of the two countries to deepen bilateral ties and strengthen India’s engagement with the ECOWAS [Economic Community of West African States] and the African Union, a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) release said. The visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Ghana is taking place after three decades. PM Modi will travel to Brazil, during the fourth leg of his visit, from July 5 to 8 to attend the 17th BRICS Summit 2025, followed by a state visit to the South American country. This will be PM Modi’s fourth visit to Brazil. The 17th BRICS Leaders’ Summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro.

During the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will discuss important international issues such as reform of global governance, international peace and security, promotion of multilateral cooperation, responsible use of artificial intelligence, action on climate change, global health and economic and financial issues. Apart from this, he can also hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of many countries during the summit.

As part of his official visit to Brazil, Prime Minister Modi will visit Brasilia, where he will meet President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. During this, the two leaders will discuss further strengthening strategic partnership in areas such as trade, defense, energy, space, science and technology, agriculture, health and people-to-people relations.

In the second phase of the visit, the Prime Minister will be on a visit to Trinidad and Tobago from July 3 to 4. This will be his first visit as Prime Minister and the first bilateral visit of an Indian Prime Minister after 1999. He will meet President Christine Carla Kangalu and Prime Minister Kamala Persad-Bissessar and discuss strengthening mutual relations. Apart from this, the Prime Minister can also address a joint session of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago. The Ministry of External Affairs says that this visit will give new energy to the historical and cultural relations of the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi will visit Argentina in the third leg of his visit on July 4-5, where he will hold bilateral talks with President Javier Milla. The discussion will consider measures to further enhance cooperation in areas such as defense, agriculture, minerals, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade, investment and cultural relations. This visit will further broaden the India-Argentina strategic partnership.

In the last leg of the visit, the Prime Minister will go on a state visit to Namibia on July 9. This will be his first visit to Namibia and only the third visit by an Indian Prime Minister. He will hold bilateral talks with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and pay tribute to the late Sam Nujoma, the first President of Namibia. The Prime Minister is also likely to address the Parliament of Namibia. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this visit reaffirms the strong and historical relations between India and Namibia.
