The meeting of BRICS NSA began Tuesday evening with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval chairing the meet. BRICS members comprise Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
BRICS NSAs are meeting in virtual format today in the run-up to the virtual BRICS Summit next month.
The leaders will discuss important issues of contemporary and future significance including regional and global security, cyber security, health safety and counter-terrorism, especially drug trafficking.
Earlier, the Seventh Meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Security in the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) was held in virtual mode under the Chairship of India.
Senior officials from relevant ministries, departments and agencies from BRICS countries participated in the meeting. The delegations discussed various aspects of cooperation between BRICS countries with respect to the security in the use of ICTs and exchanged views on a wide range of matters related to cybersecurity and cybercrime.
