Ayan Mukerji is back on Instagram and with a bang, we must say. The director has been sharing a bunch of unseen stills from the sets of his much-awaited superhero film, Brahmastra, for the past few days. The film, which has kept fans hooked since it was announced in 2017, has had multiple release dates in the past. However, the scale of the film and the subsequent pandemic further delayed Brahmastra. But it looks like the wait is finally coming to an end, as per the film’s director. Ayan Mukerji, on Friday, shared a photo of the film’s hero Ranbir Kapoor, with fire in the background. In the caption, the director addresses his sabbatical from Instagram and speaks about the release of the film.

Ayan Mukerji begins the caption with the words, “The Time Feels Right,” and adds, “Two and a half years ago, I started this Instagram journey, with Brahmastra‘s release a few months away. Then, we needed more time to perfect the movie. Then, I fell off Instagram. Then, the world stopped for a while,” referring to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But despite the hurdles, work on Brahmastra continued, Ayan Mukerji explains. “Through all of this, every single day, Brahmastra has been on! Growing with all the love and dedication it has needed! Waiting patiently for its Time,” he writes. 

“That Time is Here,” Ayan Mukerji continues, “The Time to start sharing Brahmastra. The Time to launch something from Brahmastra. The Time for ‘another, but this time – Final Release Date! And to do it all, in a way, that’s as exciting and as special as the movie experience, we have given our lives to create! Really really soon.”

Brahmastra has been envisioned as a trilogy and is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. This will be Ayan Mukerji’s third film as a director as well as his third collaboration with actor Ranbir Kapoor. Ayan Mukerji has previously directed Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
