Days after expressing disappointment over not being invited to The Kapil Sharma Show, National Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Saturday, the team of The Kashmir Files got the opportunity to interact with PM Modi and they also received appreciation for their recently-released film.
Vivek had retweeted pictures of The Kashmir Files team with PM Modi and written, “I am so glad for you @AbhishekOfficl you have shown the courage to produce the most challenging truth of Bharat. #TheKashmirFiles screenings in USA proved the changing mood of the world in the leadership of @narendramodi.”
Hours after the pictures were shared online, the hashtag ‘#BycottKapilSharmaShow’ once again reached Twitter’s trending tab as netizens slammed the makers of the show. Several users shared the pictures and called out the makers of The Kapil Sharma Show.
A user tweeted, “Yes friends, this is the same movie that Kapil Sharma refused to appear in his show, this is the one that was praised by the Prime Minister, Hon’ble Narendra Modi.”
Another wrote, “WOW! Do h**l with @KapilSharmaK9 Here’s The biggest promotion of #TheKashmirFiles”
Tagging the comedian, a user tweeted, “I love your show but you didn’t promote best films. So I will not watch your show ever.”
For those unversed, director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri had recently taken to Twitter to express disappointment after his movie The Kashmir Files‘ team was not invited to The Kapil Sharma Show. “They refused to call us on their show because we don’t have a big commercial star,” he had tweeted.
After Kapil was slammed online for the same, the comedian had issued a clarification. “Yeh sach nahi hai Rathore sahab aapne pucha isliye bata diya, baaki jinhone sach maan hi liya unko explanation dene ka kya fayada. (“This is not true Rathore sir you asked that’s why told you, rest what is the point of giving explanation to those who have accepted the truth) Just a suggestion as an experienced social media user – never believe in one sided story in today’s social media world,” read his tweet.
