Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: Players That Team India MUST Induct In Playing XI For IND vs AUS Perth Test

The 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been the most debated topic in the cricket fraternity at the present time. The heated rivalry between India and Australia will be worth watching for the fans as both team players will be heated and pumped up to take on each other. Players including Virat Kohli, Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, Rohit Sharma and Josh Hazlewood. The Indian team has won the previous four editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and registered historic victories on the past two tours of Australia. However, despite all these facts the Indian team will have a daunting task to defeat Australia as they become deadly while they play at home. Here is a look at some players which the Indian team must include in their playing XI for IND vs AUS 1st Test set to be played in Perth from November 22:

Abhimanyu Easwaran: The left-handed Saurashtra opener has been on top of his form and has scored loads of runs in domestic cricket. With Rohit Sharma unavailable for the IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth, he will be a very decent choice to open along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, the latter has failed to leave an impact during the India A vs Australia A Test series but eyeing his previous form, he may get a chance.

Prasidh Krishna: The right-handed Indian pacer has been someone who has been struggling with injuries ever since he made his debut for India. However, Prasidh Krishna has proved to be a standout bowler for the India A team in Australia against Australia A. Krishna ended up with figures of 4/50 in the second unofficial Test and has made his contention very strong to get selected in the playing XI for the IND vs AUS 1st Test.

Ravichandran Ashwin: There have been times when Ravindra Jadeja has been preferred over Ravichandran Ashwin in overseas matches. However, the value that Ravi Ashwin brings to the table is very different. Ashwin doesn’t only contribute with the bat and ball but is also available with brilliant suggestions for the captain which might help in picking up wickets at regular intervals of the innings.

While the Indian team has registered victories in the past two Australian tours, the experts are marking Australia as favourites to win the series once again. The Indian team will want to break the jinx once again and end up retaining the BGT.
