Bomb Threat Sparks Panic In Delhi, Mumbai: St. Stephen’s, Dwarka School Get Email Warning; BSE Receives RDX Threat Mail

Two educational institutions in Delhi, and the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday. This is the second such incident in two days. Delhi Police reported that St. Thomas School in Dwarka and St. Stephen’s College received threats via email.

“St. Thomas School in the Dwarka area of Delhi and St. Stephen’s College of the University of Delhi received bomb threats on Tuesday. Delhi Police Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, Delhi Fire Brigade team, and Special Staff team are on the spot. St. Thomas School and St. Stephen’s College have been evacuated,” Delhi police said in a statement.

BSE Receives Bomb Threat

BSE Mumbai also got into panic mode when it got a threatening email alleging the placement of ‘4 RDX IEDs’ in the tower building and would detonate at 3 pm. According to ANI news agency, the email was sent from an ID named “Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan.”Following the alert, the police and bomb squad rushed to the spot and searched. No suspicious object was found.

Following the threat, emergency services evacuated the buildings and inspected the premises, accompanied by a dog squad. Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College and St. Thomas School in Dwaraka received the threat via email on Tuesday morning.

“Upon getting information, the Delhi bomb squad, fire department, and special staff were rushed to the institutes and thoroughly inspected the areas. Nothing suspicious has been found,” police said, adding that further investigation is underway.

Notably, Amritsar’s Golden Temple also received a similar threat on Monday. However, nothing suspicious was found after the search. In the second incident, the Bombay Stock Exchange received a email from an ID identified as ‘Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan’.

“4 RDX IED bombs have been placed in the tower building of the Bombay Stock Exchange and would explode at 3 pm”, reads the threat email as quoted by ANI.

Police said nothing suspicious has been found, and a case under sections 351(1)(b), 353(2), 351(3), and 351(4) of BNS was registered at Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg Police Station.
