Bill Gates has officially moved on. Although he recently shared regrets about his divorce from Melinda French Gates. Now the former Microsoft CEO has confirmed that he is in a serious relationship with Paula Hurd.
In an interview on the Today show on Tuesday, the billionaire philanthropist said, “I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula. We’re having fun, going to the Olympics, and doing lots of great things.”
Rumors about Bill Gates and Paula Hurd’s relationship have been spreading since 2023, two years after Gates divorced his ex-wife Melinda. The speculation started about four years after Paula’s husband, former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd, passed away.
Last year, Bill Gates attended his first Indian wedding celebration with Paula, joining the pre-wedding party for billionaire Anant Ambani. He later shared a photo of them in traditional Indian clothes, posing with Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani and his wife, Rohini.
Even though he recently expressed regrets about his previous marriage in an interview with The Times of London, the 69-year-old tech mogul seems to be in a good place in life now. On the Today show, he said, “I’ve moved past the divorce. Melinda is doing well. I have a lot of work I enjoy, so I’m not complaining about anything.”
He also mentioned, “The divorce wasn’t easy. But having our three kids and working together, even though I knew it wouldn’t last forever, I would do it all again.”
In 2021, Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates declared their separation after 27 years of marriage. Talking about their current family situation, Bill mentioned that, “Melinda and I still see each other. We have three kids and two grandchildren, so we attend family events. The kids are doing well and have good values.”
Since then, Bill Gates and Paula Hurd have been seen together at several sporting events. In his new memoir, Source Code: My Beginnings, he also gave a special mention to Paula. He wrote, “Early readers of the manuscript included Paula Hurd, Marc St. John, and Sheila Gulati. Their careful reading and helpful feedback were important during key stages of writing,” according to Today.com.
