The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will now submit its report directly to the Supreme Court. The SIT has also sought additional time from the Uttar Pradesh government to complete its final investigation. As per AAj Tak report, the SIT is expected to submit an interim report before the SC on Monday. The investigation relates to the alleged theft of offerings and donations received at the Ram Temple.

The final report is expected to determine the next course of action in the case. The Uttar Pradesh government has said that anyone found guilty will face strict action and will not be spared.

The three-member SIT, constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, has not yet completed its investigation.

So far, the inquiry has reportedly uncovered serious irregularities in the counting and management of temple donations. These include violations of the standard operating procedure (SOP) and gaps in CCTV surveillance during the handling of donations.

Eight Arrested So Far

Based on the findings of the investigation, eight people have been arrested. They include Ram Shankar Yadav, also known as Tinnu Yadav, Anukalp Mishra, and several bank employees who are alleged to have been involved in the case.

Report to Be Submitted Directly to SC

Earlier reports had suggested that the SIT would submit its findings to the UP government. However, the latest information indicates that the report will instead be submitted directly to the SC.

The SIT was formed on June 13 at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Initially, it was given 15 days to complete the investigation. On July 1, its tenure was extended by another 15 days. With the extended deadline nearing its end, the report is expected to be submitted by Monday, and another extension is considered unlikely.

Report May Lead to Major Reforms

The final report is expected to play an important role in improving the temple’s donation management system. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is likely to discuss the SIT’s recommendations in detail.

The recommendations could lead to significant reforms in the counting, management and security of temple donations. A meeting of the Trust is scheduled to be held in Ayodhya on July 22.

Deputy Chief Minister Assures Strict Action

UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the state government is also waiting for the SIT’s findings. He assured that strict action would be taken against everyone found guilty in the investigation.
