Malayalam actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mamta Mohandas-starrer Bhramam’s official trailer was released by Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday, September 28. The movie, which is a remake of Bollywood hit Andhadun, is directed by Ravi K Chandran. The film also features Unni Mukundan, Raashi Khanna, Sudheer Karamana and Shankar Panicker in key roles.

The trailer of Bhramam offers a glimpse into the life of Ray Mathews, a pretentious blind pianist who finds solace in his music. But his musical escapades get laced with mystery as he witnesses the murder of a yesteryear actor and all hell breaks loose. As lies and deceit envelope Ray, he must turn the tables to save his life. With a stellar background score by Jakes Bejoy, the film scores on a well-crafted screenplay, an incredible supporting cast and a stupendous performance by Prithviraj in the lead.

In the Andhadhun remake, Prithviraj plays a blind musician, which was essayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in the original, while Mamta and Raashi step into the shoes of Tabu and Radhika Apte respectively.

Commenting on the film’s premiere, Prithviraj added, “Playing a blind pianist was like venturing into an unexplored territory as an artiste but I have thoroughly enjoyed portraying such a nuanced and layered character. Bhramam is a well-crafted murder mystery and is replete with interesting elements that should of appeal to the Malayalam audience and beyond. I am looking forward to the premiere of Bhramam on Amazon Prime Video and I hope this film will garner as much love and appreciation from viewers as I enjoyed working for this project which is close to my heart.”

Bhramam is jointly produced under the banner of AP International and Viacom18 Studios. The film is gearing up for a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime on October 7.

Bhramam is the second south Indian remake of Andhadhun to release after Maestro, which premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 10. The Tamil remake titled Andhagan is in the post-production phase and will also release soon. The remake will have Prashanth reprising the role of Ayushmann Khurrana while Simran will replicate the character played by Tabu. Comedian Yogi Babu, K.S. Ravikumar, Urvashi, Leela Samson, Priya Anand, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Samuthirakani and many others play supporting roles in Andhagan.

On the work front, meanwhile, has also several other films including Jana Gana Mana, Kaduva, Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure and Aadujeevitham in the pipeline
