In a big development in the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train blast case, seven of eight accused were  given death sentence by a Special NIA Court. Another accused was given life imprisonment.

NIA Special Court gave death sentences to convicts Mohammad Faisal, Gaus Mohammad, Azhar, Atif Muzaffar, Danish, Mir Hussain and Asif Iqbal. A life imprisonment has been awarded to Atif Iraqi.
