Bharat Dev Verma, Moon Moon Sen’s Husband And Raima Sen’s Father, Dies At 83

Bharat Dev Verma, father of actresses Raima and Riya Sen and husband of Moon Moon Sen, passed away on November 19 in Kolkata. He was 83. According to reports, an ambulance was called after his condition worsened but he died before the ambulance could reach the hospital. 

 

He married Moon Moon Sen, who had royal connections, in 1978. She is the daughter of popular Bengali actress Suchitra Sen and Dibanath Sen. The actress got into showbiz after she welcomed her two daughters. She has worked in over 60 films and 40 shows.

Bharat Dev Verma also came from the royal family and was a descendant of the erstwhile royal family of Tripura. His grandmother Indira was the daughter of Searji Rao Gaikwad III, Maharaja of Vadodara. Meanwhile, his mother Ila Dev was reportedly a princess of Cooch Behar and also the elder sister of Gayatri Devi, Maharani of Jaipur.

Meanwhile, Raima and Riya Sen have also worked in several popular Bengali and Bollywood movies.
