BCCI Central Contracts 2025: Shreyas Iyer Makes A Comeback, New Faces Revealed- Check Details

The Board of Control Cricket In India (BCCI) released list of players who have been handed central contracts on Monday. The top-tier contracts remain unchanged, with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja in A+. One of the notable names like Shreyas Iyer, who missed out on last season’s contract, returns to Grade B.

Shreyas Iyer And Ishan Kishan Return

Shreyas Iyer made a solid comeback after being dropped from the central contract list in 2023-24. The star batter had a fallout with the selection committee after he refused to play a Ranji Trophy match for Mumbai, following his exclusion from the Indian Test squad after the second Test against England. He had cited a back injury that kept him from playing red-ball cricket.

Since then, Shreyas has played a key role in India’s victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he was the team’s highest run-scorer with 243 runs from five innings. Currently, he is positioned at Grade B.

Apart from Iyer, Ishan Kishan too joins the list after getting excluded from previous contract. He is been awarded with Grade C contract.

New Faces Received Contracts

Team India’s ‘mystery spinner’ Varun Chakavararthy also gets central contract following his heroics in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy. Apart from Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhishek Sharma have also earned their maiden BCCI central contracts.
